Maha Bodhi Society, Bengaluru, is a Buddhist Charitable Organization established in 1956 by the Most Venerable Acharya Buddharakkhita with the main objective of putting into practice the teachings of Bhagawan Buddha through meditation, selfless service, imparting education, serving the sick and needy people. Moral upliftment (SILA), mental purity (SAMADHI) and deeper wisdom (PANYA) are the basis for all these noble causes. Ultimately a healthy society is defined by how peaceful and happy the people are. The MBS strives to achieve that goal collectively in collaboration with likeminded people, organizations and government.

You are welcome to participate in our daily morning and evening puja and meditation for experiencing peace and harmony within yourself and in your social life. Please join daily, weekly, monthly programs and yearly events. All are welcome regardless of religion, race, community, sex etc.
Learn how to meditate the right way. MBS is running a meditation and personality development center in the outskirts of Bengaluru, where yearlong meditation and Dhamma study programs, personality development courses are organized. All courses are provided free of cost and you are we request you to utilize this precious opportunity.
Sangha Dana means “Offerings to the community of monks”. To support the Sangha is one of the important responsibilities of lay people as well as a fruitful deed. Since Sangha depends on lay people for material needs and lay people depend on the Sangha for spiritual needs, this is an opportunity to serve the both. That helps the donor also to overcome greed, hatred and ignorance. The fortune of coming in contact with the Sangha means chance of hearing the Buddha Dhamma. It is essential for our growth in life. Mahabodhi Viharas are places of developing a strong sangha. We welcome you to join and support the monks through Mahabodhi Dayaka Mandali – Lay peoples’ association to support the Sangha.

Hospital dana service is one of the earliest programs of Mahabodhi started in 1956 by Venerable Acharya Buddharakkhita to help the suffering people. Going to hospital to give fruits and essential needs to patients is practical demonstration of compassion in action. The monks offer these needs and pray for their speedy recovery and give counselling. The hospital Dana service is continued regularly, especially on full moon days. Please join. Your heart will be filled with joy when you become a part of this.
Sunday Dhamma discourse program was started by the Venerable Acharya Buddharakkhita from the very early stage of his arrival in Bengaluru way back in 1956 and it has been continuing without a break from that time. Join Every Sunday English Dhamma discourse & Meditation Program from 9:30 am to 11:30 am Kannada Dhamma discourse by Most Ven Ananda Bhanteji from 12:30 pm to 01:30 pm.
Buddha Vachana Trust is the publishing wing of Maha Bodhi Society. Since inception more than 300 books have been published and distributed by the Trust. Amita Souvenir Book is a very informative book with articles from monks, students, staff, elders and members of Mahabodhi all over the world published once in a year. The main purpose of the book is to share experiences and express gratitude to the supporters and donors.
