Nestled in the Himalayas in the state of Arunachal Pradesh, Tawang is called hidden paradise. It is still cut off from the rest of the world due to limited communication and climatic conditions. The people are humble, simple and devotional with very rich culture and heritage. There is scope for enriching the lives of the people in both modern education and traditional spiritual values.
Venerable Panyarakkhita, who became a monk at the age of 10 years initiated this noble project in 2008 with the blessings of his Respected Guruji, Ven. Acharya Buddharakkhita. The centre is located at Teli village on a land measuring 5 acres which is 10 kms away from the Town.
Mahabodhi runs an integrated program where senior citizens and children are living together like in an extended family sharing love, care, respect for each other.
