MAHABODHI- NAMSAI, ARUNACHAL PRADESH

Namsai is a peaceful town situated in calm nature on the Tezu highway on the boarder to Assam in Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh. It has been made as district headquarters since August 2014. The people of this region along with public leaders requested Most Venerable Acharya Buddharakkhita to start a branch and bring education, particularly higher education to the people of this area. Considering the request of the people Ven. Acharya Buddharakkhita has started branch of Maha Bodhi Society and Mahabodhi Maitri Mandala in Namsai. The Government and the people have helped magnanimously and today Mahabodhi activities are developed in a beautiful 90-acre campus.

The activities that are being developed are

• Mahabodhi Monastic Institute: training center for 500 monks.
• Mahabodhi Center for Theravada Buddhist Studies: for running courses in Buddhist studies
